Fire and life safety inspections

Every fire inspection report is a record someone will rely on.

At NY Fire Consultants, inspection reports are reviewed before they are filed. MuSIC™ compares each report with the photos and video behind it, checks findings against the fire code edition in force and the firm's own standards, and sends anything skipped, missing or inconsistent to a reviewer. A person decides every flagged item, and the basis is recorded. Nothing is filed until every flagged item is resolved.

MuSIC checks the report, not the building. The inspector's judgment stays the inspector's; what changes is that no report leaves with a silent gap, a wrong citation, or a finding its evidence does not support.

01THE DECISION

Is this inspection report right?

A clean report is not the same as a complete one. The dangerous errors are the ones nobody sees.

One wrong answer hides many checks

Answer "no" to a question like "is there a standpipe?" and every check beneath it switches off. The report comes back clean, and nobody sees what was skipped.

Citations drift between code editions

Section numbers move between editions of the fire code. A finding can cite a number that looks right and points at the wrong rule.

Evidence does not match the finding

Photos and notes are captured in the moment. Whether they support what was recorded is rarely checked.

Errors surface after filing

By the time a reviewer catches a gap, the inspector has left the building and the correction costs a second visit.

02HOW IT RUNS

Every report, every check, before it is filed.

Agents evaluate the report against the fire code rules that apply to the building. Your rules decide what counts as complete. The inspector, not the software, makes every correction, and the reviewed report is recorded with what changed and who changed it.

  1. ReportThe inspection report arrives from the field
  2. RulesEvery applicable fire code check is evaluated
  3. ConsistencyContradictory answers are flagged; skipped checks are named
  4. CitationsEach cited section is verified against the edition in force
  5. EvidencePhotos and notes are checked against each finding
  6. InspectorCorrections go back to the inspector, on site
  7. RecordedThe reviewed report and every correction are recorded
03WHY MuSIC IS DIFFERENT

Other tools move tasks, show status, or assist one person.
MuSIC runs the workflow and owns the decision inside it.

The report, the code it must meet, the inspector who corrects it, and a record of what was checked.

Manual peer review and QACatch errors after the report is filed
Inspection softwareRecord what the inspector entered
AI chat toolsAnswer questions about the code; they do not review the report
MuSICReviews every report against the fire code, names every skipped check, and records every correction
